As an anti-inflammatory, it can be taken as a dietary supplement and used topically for people with arthritis who want  pain relief . It is used around the world in cooking, making it a delicious,  antioxidant  -rich addition to many dishes.

According to recent research, turmeric may be a promising treatment for a variety of  skin conditions  and arthritis .

Flaxseeds prevent  colon cancer

Flaxseed, which is also available as an oil, is one of the safer options among plant-based nutritional supplements. Flaxseed has been harvested for thousands of years and is lauded today for its antioxidant activity and anti-inflammatory benefits.

Although more research in humans is needed, one study says that flaxseeds can help prevent colon cancer.  

Another study indicates   that flaxseeds have the ability to lower  blood pressure  and may help reduce  obesity . Many people add flaxseed to their oatmeal and smoothies, and it is also available in the form of tablets, oil (which can be taken in capsules), and flour.

The best way to add flaxseeds is through your diet such as by sprinkling the ground seeds on cereal or  salads , or cooking them into hot cereals, stews, homemade baking or smoothies. Flaxseed oil can be added to salad dressing.

Flaxseeds are one of the few plant-based sources of  omega-3  fatty acids. They can be helpful in reducing obesity, regulating blood pressure, and preventing  colorectal cancer  and infections.


Flaxseed can affect estrogen production  in  women, especially if they have a history of  cancer  or are pregnant. Do not eat raw or unripe flaxseeds, as they can be toxic.

Grape seed extract lowers cholesterol and fights cancer

For many years grape seed extract, available as  a liquid  , tablet or capsule, has been one of the most important antioxidants. It also has powerful health benefits, including lowering   bad cholesterol ( LDL ) and reducing symptoms of poor  circulation  in the leg veins.

Studies confirm that regular consumption of grape seed extract has anti-cancer effects and appears to stop the growth of  cancer cells . And grape seed extract contains the same antioxidants as wine. It can also be useful for treating high blood pressure.


Use caution and tell your doctor if you are taking blood thinners or blood pressure medications, or if you are about to undergo surgery. Excessive consumption can reduce the body's absorption of iron.

Tea tree oil treats acne and scalp

Tea tree oil is derived   from the leaves of a tree that is native to Queensland and New South Wales, Australia.

This tree produces an oil that has long been believed to be beneficial for  skin ailments , including  mild acne  , minor cuts, dandruff  , insect bites, and other inflammatory skin conditions. It is used as a highly concentrated essential oil, diluted with a carrier oil, or used in topical creams and products. .

More study is needed on its use for scalp and acne  , but at the moment, there is a significant amount of  research  into the antimicrobial superpowers of tea tree oil on topical wounds and infections.

One recent study said   that tea tree oil slowed the growth of acne-causing microbes. It can be useful in treating dandruff and insect bites.


Tea tree oil is toxic if taken  orally . Your skin may have   an allergic reaction, so you should first test it on a small spot on your hand and wait 24 hours. Its long-term use may affect  hormones , so it is recommended to use it to treat a specific problem after taking appropriate measures and instructions for use.
